Cubic Zirconia- An inexpensive diamond simulant. Plenty of bright sparkle.Very hard, durable and flawless.Safe to fire in Metal clay Hardness: 8.5-9.0 Refractive index: 2.15.
Laboratory Sapphire and Ruby (Corundum) - Warm sparkle.Very hard, durable and flawless. Easy to work with and great colours. Safe to fire in Metal clay.Hardness: 9 Refractive index: 1.76
Laboratory Spinel - A material similar to corundrum. Warm sparkle. Slightly less hard and durable than corundum. Great bright colours. Safe to fire in Metal clay. Hardness: 8.0 Refractive index: 1.73
Lead Crystal Glass - Flawless, but with less sparkle and being much less durable than the materials above. Only suitable for claw type settings and pendants/earrings. Cannot be fired in Metal Clay.
